Southern Wedding: Capturing the Heart of Greek Orthodox Traditions.

The Southern Wedding was a truly emotional and special occasion, marking my first foray into the world of Greek Orthodox ceremonies. The bride, with her Greek Orthodox heritage, brought a unique charm and depth to the celebration. The venue, Haycraft, with its enchanting forest setting, provided a stunning backdrop for the ceremony.

The bride and groom, who travelled from Johannesburg, infused their wedding with personal touches. The bride’s stationery was a testament to her creativity and attention to detail, making every piece of the wedding experience uniquely theirs.

The couple’s journey was marked by a touching display of devotion and love. Just before the wedding, the bride fell ill, yet her groom remained steadfast, never wavering in his commitment.

His unwavering support and encouragement through this challenging time was a poignant reminder of the depth of their love. Rather than postponing, he chose to stand by her side, affirming their vows of "in sickness and in health" before they were officially married. This gesture was a proud moment for her father, a clear reflection of how deeply his daughter is cherished.

The ceremony itself was a beautiful display of Greek Orthodox traditions, filled with vibrant rituals and heartfelt moments. Witnessing and photographing the ceremony was a privilege, as the couple's love was celebrated in such a meaningful and joyous way. The bride's twin nieces, serving as ring bearers, added an extra layer of sweetness to the day.

Her father’s speech was a highlight, deeply emotional and moving, leaving few dry eyes among the guests. The heartfelt words and visible love made it a moment to remember.
